Heather Van Nuys, Wills and Trusts Attorney

Heather Van Nuys served as a trial judge for 22 years, including over 16 years on the Superior Court.  She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon, and her Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle.   She received several certificates from the National Judicial College, including a Certificate in Mediation.  Heather twice served as Dean of the Washington State Judicial College.  She brings experience, expertise, and compassion to her law practice.  She focuses her practice in Seattle on wills, trusts, estate planning, probate, and mediation.

She has been member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the National Elder Care Planning Council.  She on the Executive Committee of the Alternate Dispute Resolution section of the Washington State Bar Association.

She has served on the King County Superior Court's Guardian ad Litem registry, and on the list of mediators for the Federal District Court for the Western District of Washington.  Heather Van Nuys is a trained mediator who is qualified to handle TEDRA mediations under the Trust and Estate Dispute Resolution Act.
